||I earned my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1985 and began an eighteen-year
career as an engineer for both utilities and for consulting firms. During
this career, I applied
my talents to the design, construction, maintenance, and upgrade of numerous
systems in electric power generating plants across the country. As a project
engineer, I supervised projects ranging from system and equipment upgrades
to sewer and security system installations in electric power stations.
I am a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania.
I received my law degree in 2002 from Temple University in Philadelphia,
where I focused on intellectual property and transactional law to complement
my engineering background. Law, like engineering, requires identifying
a problem and then applying experience and education to identify an appropriate
solution to the problem. Combining a broad engineering experience
with my law practice allows me to provide clients with practical legal solutions that
make sense. I am licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and a
registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark
I am a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar
Association, Lancaster Bar Association, and the American Intellectual Property
Law Association. I am also a member of the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
Also involved in the local community, I am a member of the Highland
Presbyterian Church and the Lancaster Bicycle Club.
